Electricity has been key to Calgary’s development and success. The city began generating electric power in 1905; by 1928, it stopped generating and began buying power for redistribution. Today, Enmax purchases electricity from the Alberta Electric System Operator.
The company includes several components. Enmax Power transmits and delivers electricity to Calgary and surrounding areas. Enmax Energy manages the business end of the business. And Enmax Envision provides fibre-optic network telecommunications solutions.
