Company Description: Calgary Co-op offers retail shopping and other services to members in Calgary and other cities in Alberta. Officially known as Calgary Co-operative Association Limited, the co-op operates 22 stores in Calgary.
Members can purchase groceries and other goods, gasoline, prescription medication and other items through Calgary Co-op. Food stores in Calgary are open every day of the week. Anyone can become a member with two valid forms of ID and a $1 investment in the co-op.
In addition to savings on groceries and gasoline, co-op members can use their Value Plus card to receive savings through the Value Plus Partner program. Partners include retailers, automobile dealers and service companies. A number of resorts in Canada also offer discounts for co-op members.
Calgary Co-op encourages its members to be actively engaged in improving the local community through voluntarism. In addition, the co-op supports recycling efforts and is a partner in Alberta’s Promise to improve the lives of Alberta’s children.
Established in 1956, Calgary Co-op is owned, supported and directed by members. The organization recognizes the standards of the International Co-operative Alliance and operates within its parameters.
